DYNEST spring bushings for skateboard trucks are in production and on sale, licensed to Hamboards Holdings LLC for skateboard applications. Each one is a compression spring cast fully inside solid polyurethane, sized to drop into the bushing seat the truck already has.
The skateboard truck is a demanding place for a small elastomer part. The envelope is fixed and the deflection is large, and it is where the technology was developed.
Longboard bushings fit reverse-kingpin trucks and use two barrels per truck. Street bushings fit traditional-kingpin trucks and pair a cone with a barrel. Both are made in Soft Orange 60A, Medium Purple 70A and Hard Green 80A. A third format, HST, fits the Hamboards Spring Truck.
As the bushing compresses, the gaps between the coils close and the polyurethane between them becomes progressively confined. Deep in the stroke the same material behaves like a much firmer one, so resistance builds as the rider leans.
